Endocrine System of Humans
The endocrine system of humans is an extremely complex system that controls our body along with the nervous system. It uses chemical "bases" called glands, and chemical "messengers" called hormones. The pituitary gland controls muscle and skeletal growth. It stimulates the liver to produce growth inducing chemicals. The Thyroid gland regulates metabolism in humans in cells. The adrenal glands control the human's response to fright and fear, and can generate a sense of power in times of need (adrenalin). The pancreas is involved with blood control and insulin production. the main disease that is involved with the pancreas is diabetes. The reproductive system is essentially a slave to the endocrine system, as the ovaries (female) and Testis (male) are both controlled by hormones. The testis stimulate sperm production, and the ovaries produce eggs. These glands are involved in reproduction. Overall, the endocrine system controls the hormonal bodily functions in humans.
