Since the endocrine system of animals doesn't depend on the structural form of the animal, most animals have the same or similar systems. In canines, the pituitary gland controls many of the hormones in the canine. The thyroid gland controls the dog's metabolism, which is necessary for these extremely active animals. The parathyroid gland secretes parathyroid hormone, and is not found in humans. The pancreas secretes insulin, the adrenal gland secretes insulin. The ovaries make eggs and the female chemical estrogen which develops the canine as a female. The testes secrete testosterone which makes the dog a male.
