Grasshopper (Orthoptera)
The grasshopper, another insect has a endocrine system similar to that of the spider, but with many key differences. The salivary gland secretes digestive enzymes that aid in braking down food. The nerve cords allow glands to detect danger and secrete hormones to help deal with the threat. Much like every other animal we've covered, the grasshopper also contains reproductive glands, such as the ovary and the insect version of the testes, which both secrete their respective hormones. The grasshoppers, instead of bodily growth of the embryo, use the eggs that are grown in the ovaries to lay them a few centimeters under the ground, therefore allowing their children to develop externally.
FUN FACT: Grasshoppers can actually fly, their jump is just a boost off the ground.
