Common Cat
Since the endocrine system of animals doesn't depend on the structural form of the animal, most animals have the same or similar systems. In felines, such as the common cat, the endocrine system closely resembles that of both the human and the canine. The pituitary gland controls hormones and other glands, and is like the brain of the endocrine system. The thyroid gland controls the cat's metabolism, and the parathyroid gland controls the cat's parathyroid hormone, and is not found in humans. The pancreas is responsible for producing insulin, and the adrenal glands produce adrenaline and respond to pain and stress. The ovaries secrete estrogen, and the testes secrete testosterone.
